About Us

The AgNIC Beef Cattle web site is a collaborative effort between K-State Libraries, the Beef Cattle Institute at Kansas State University, the K-State Animal Sciences & Industry Department, and the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. This site is one component of AgNIC , the Agriculture Network Information Center, which is coordinated through the National Agricultural Library in Beltsville , Maryland. AgNIC is a voluntary alliance of some 60 member institutions including the National Agricultural Library, land-grant universities and other organizations committed to facilitating public access to agricultural and related information. AgNIC is committed to provide quality academic, research, and practical resources in electronic format via the World Wide Web.

This site includes resources related to beef cattle behavior, management and well-being; breeding and genetics; buildings and equipment; health; marketing; nutrition; physiology; and meat science. This site is not meant to be, nor could it be a complete indexing or listing of all information on these topics.

Selection of Resources

Resources linked to through this web site have been reviewed by K-State science librarians. Selections are based on quality and significance to AgNIC users. The focus is on accurate, science-based information that is substantially available for free. Criteria we use to determine the quality and accuracy of listed web resources include:

This site is maintained by Livia Olsen, Assistant Professor at Hale Library at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas.
